| Message | I am in the process of getting my 2+2 TT repaired with a new long block and new turbos since the previous one went out on
me. It has been at the mechanic since March and supposedly
the pistons have been on backorder from Nissan Japan until a
few weeks ago. I'm a little uneasy leaving my car at the
mechanic such a long time, so i'd like to be sure I have my
auto insurance policy updated to reflect the value of
everything I put into it vs. just the bluebook value. I
need an appraisal of what it would be worth with the
aftermarket parts I have installed listed in my profile.
Could anyone suggest how to get an appraisal? Or anyone willing to take a stab at it? I totaled up the receipts
from the TT swap in 2007-08 and the parts came to $12,000
plus another $4,000 to have it repainted. That includes
everything: new wheels, tires, Stoptech BBK, 2.5" SS
exhaust, etc... NOT just the engine swap.
Would $15,000 be a legitimate replacement value for insurance?
Thanks for your help... (waiting for the ubiquitous $613.29 comments) :)
